On Top of The Grange Hall & Lichen

So I helped David get the big sign on the roof for Lynne's shop. All we could do for the two of us to be able to get that thing up and get it over everything. It worked out well. I got a picture of Rte. 1 and Tracey's and then got caught up in the lichen, some of it is really quite beautiful. See below.

Two of a Kind

So we've been working with cyanotypes in 2 of my three classes right now and we (yes, I'm part of that "getting things done" group) are working with digital media including shooting through transparencies with repetition of elements. Some cool things are resulting... see above and email or call for more details.

Eight Of 'Em

So I'll just load them up... all on the road to or from work. Tired. Fell asleep after getting home tonight at 5:45. Here they are.

Rose Buds and Suds

That's exactly it. It took me a few shots to come up with the rose thing, but after about 10 I got this one and was happy with it. I then left the front lawn of the house where Jen and her siblings grew up, where Jen and I were married 39 years ago in August, and where I lost the end of my right ring finger.

All this going through my head tonight as I was doing dishes and got the soap suds from the sink and the pyrex casserole dish I was washing.

Another?

These are from today... I suppose it is somehow improper to post pics from the day before and then post more later, but the last couple of days have been very rainy and I have just seen a lot of chances in all this diffused light to get very cool photos. So I'm posting several. Not a lot to talk about with these as they are just from what I've seen today, but I've been working on the punt getting trim on it, went out in the rain to get some late afternoon shots so came up with the ones I'm posting.

70 Pictures Yesterday

So there were a group of more than 70 shots I made yesterday, and I liked a number of them. It's interesting and understandable that when I see something I know I want to shoot that it takes a series of steps including moving around, changing lens range, adjusting f-stop and shutter for the right exposure and a bunch of just plain looking closely. I frequently seem to come back to a few subjects repeatedly, such as plants and views of the bay, but the range of "new and different" even with these subjects is seemingly limitless. I spent a lot of time working on the punt (no photos posted of that, maybe today as I finish) but found time to "stroll and shoot".

On the Way to Work...

...was beautiful this morning. I followed Morgan toward Ellsworth and then turned and went through the Mud Creek Road and ended up with this Photo at the head of the sound. How lucky we are to live in an area such as this!

Oops! Forgot the one of trailing Morgan toward Ellsworth

Two Ravens

Yeah, they are the big ones, being considerably larger, and to many people, smarter than the average crow. Poe, in his drug induced deliberations of the sometimes fantastic environment surrounding him, felt that their sentience was beyond human understanding, but I think these two just had a few things to talk over. They didn't mind the music coming from my car, but when I made a few weird noises at them they became unsettled and flew away. Birds are very cool; they can fly, that's why.

A Chipmunk, not Alvin... and Don't Play With Me

OK, so one of our "bird feeder" chipmunks, you know that just picks up the seeds off the ground 'cause he can't fly like the squirrels, did some posing for me when I got home tonight and I got a couple of good shots of him. I like "wildlife".

Yep, that's right... don't play with me! Boy, some of the things we put in print and say to each other need to be somehow revised. This "object" was made of oil, and after more than a month, someone's figured out that BP might have broken some laws. Hmmmm?
