New Day at Moosehead
Boy! Quite a change for us in terms of weather as Jen had hoped it would be cooler today and it sure is! The wind is blowing and the day is overcast and the lake looks so different than it did yesterday. We are now discussing where to go and what to do this morning before we take the Katahdin trip around the lake at 12:30.

Chalet Moosehead
Here we are in Greenville at the Chalet Moosehead, so here's a few pictures. Wow! Can you actually believe they have wifi up here? I was/am amazed... now I can watch the Yankees play before I go to sleep!

iPhone Photos
Dan and I worked on curriculum this morning at the Maine Grind in Ellsworth, and it was nice to have a relaxed atmosphere outside of school for that. I think we got some good groundwork done and will be more than ready for our next meeting.
I did some chores in the garden and such after getting home and then went out to the Sheldrake Bar to see Vern and Luke. All these photos are from the iPhone.

Sandy and the Seven Webs
So this was the order of things as I went out to get the paper this morning. I was met by Sandy in the chair in the mud room with the sun shining brightly upon him and of course had to include a photo post of one of those shots.
But what really motivated me this morning were the spider webs in the field going up the driveway. There were dozens of them and as I started to photograph them I realized how unique each was in size and in structure, depending completely I suppose on the fields foundation. There is something about that structure and that "tunnel" that is metaphorical I am sure. Well, enough talk, here are the webs.

39 Years Together
Today was Jen's and my wedding anniversary... thirty-nine years and counting. We went out to eat in Ellsworth and then to Cadillac Mountain, where it was very "cloudy", which we saw as we were heading through Trenton, but it was an exciting ride to the top (I always love it) and seeing everything looking down through the clouds was different. Photos below, and just missed the great sunlight on the way up, but I've chosen a few of the ones I liked the best.

Haystacks
Mowed the fields and now I'm making haystacks... did a journal entry tonight "Woman in a Haystack", and thinking it may work into a series.
I also had some very overexposed images so played with them a bit in photoshop, maybe overdid it?

Morning Dew
Early rising and get the good shots. Everything was dew covered and it remionded me of being a kid and caddy at the golf course in Winter Harbor and going out early to "whip" the greens with a long piece of bamboo to remove (or as I think about it now simply to knock down) the dew on the greens so that they would dry faster and wouldn't slow down the putts that the early morning golfers took.
It is a beautiful world we live in.

The Schoodic Loop and Watering the Corn
OK, so today was another good one, I got up fairly early as the girls were up to go to a job interview for Lynne in Bangor, and I went out while it was still cool and picked a bunch of blueberries. After the berries were in the fridge, I gathered my empty gas cans ("free" two year old gas from my brother out of a boat he is repairing) and threw my bike into the back of the truck and headed to Winter Harbor to ride the "park loop".
Always an enjoyable ride and a great workout when I push, the loop road is mostly one way traffic and full of sights to see, that even though I roamed those grounds and shores as a kid, continue to amaze and interest me. I will leave out the "typical" shots of scenery and tourists to pay tribute to two artists whose work I find inspiring and to document the injured eagle I spied in the bog on the left just before leaving the park. The artists are Syd Browne and Alan Magee. Syd was an artist in Winter Harbor when I was growing up and he loved to paint with a palette knife the ledges along Schoodic Point. Alan Magee you should get when you see it as his trademark work is beach rocks. The other image is one that I think just has the feel of the ocean and the water rushing forward with the tide, like one is "getting wet".
And then finally, Jen had bemoaned the fact that "her" garden (and it is hers as she has done a lions share of getting and keeping it cleaned out and productive) has gotten so dry the past few days, so I gathered up all the hose I could find and ran a line back up and watered it before supper. The corn is huge and full of ears!
