Flowers, Flowers, Everywhere!

I'm determined to get back on track with this blog, maybe with more writing, more artwork, but certainly more post and pictures... I was struck this afternoon while cutting the grass at all the wild  flowers in the fields. I'm not sure whether it is just me or if there are truly that many more flowers than usual. They are beautiful in their great numbers!

Here are three shots I got after supper as the sun was getting low in the sky.

Jackson at the New House

He really liked playing around in the mud. These shots weren't thought out much, but here they are, unretouched (word?) and so typical of the day and Jackson's interest in everything from car keys to mud puddles.

The house is coming along good, and really fast as well!

Here is a mobile shot I got last night in Sorrento of David and Dave.

Odds and Ends After School

So I, as I often do after getting home from school, grabbed my camera and headed out into the nearby environment to see what I could find interesting to photograph. Here are a few things that "struck my fancy" mostly through the play of light on the subjects, but also due to point of view and the natural beauty that so often elevates me to another plane. No adjustments to any of these images, they are all just as the camera and I saw them.

Long Cove Mirror

This morning was gorgeous on the way into school, and I had to stop at Long Cove in Sorrento and capture a few images. The water was just like a mirror and started to soften up a bit with a slight breeze just as I was finishing my "looking around". Here are three of the ones I liked best.

Abstraction and Imagination

I painted on one of the saw horses on the shop the other day just to get paint out of the brush before washing it up. Today it took on a different look for me. I see faces everywhere!

New Apple Blossoms, Fish Eye Lens, and David Finishing Boat

So the title of this blog seems to be pretty busy, and it is. I glimpsed the blossoms in the apple tree out front from the living room window, then realized that last year a late frost took all the blossoms on the tree and so there were no apples, not a one. It was with some appreciation that I took these photos this afternoon, and then switched to the fish-eye lens on my phone and took a couple more (that I felt like posting).

David and I worked a big part of the day yesterday sanding and taping off the trim (brightwork) on his sailboat. He got home early today and put on a second coat and it looks stunning!

Memorial Disconnectedness

Some random photos from the front yard as the sun was setting... this year's blackberries.

Jen & Jackson

What can I say to this? Two of the most beautiful people in my life!
