Leaving the Wilderness

On the West face of the large sculpture below, which is located just outside the Greenville Historical Society building is the following inscription:


I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

The last few days have been beautiful.
